Our kids studying Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu worked on drilling armbars from the guard Tuesday afternoon. From the set-up all the way through the finish and getting the tap, these kids were on the ball. Super proud!

Morristown Martial Arts Classes - Kids Working Balance Drills

This week kids worked on balance drills in class. Balance is incredibly important in martial arts training.

Think about it - every time a martial arts student kicks, they are required to have only one foot in contact with the ground. That is NOT easy, especially for children.

Balance drills will not only improve balance, they also improve strength and coordination.

Morristown Karate

Tonight our adult class worked knife drills versus a static partner. The purpose of the drills was to work on getting comfortable with distance and timing in both blocking and striking, as well as being able to follow up knife strikes with empty hand strikes. They did a great job!

On Monday we challenged our junior students to jump as high in the air as the could while practicing their backfist technique. I got a few photos during the Tiger class. I think these kids did a great job!
